On February 25th a partial building collapsed in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, seriously injuring at least one person. The FDNY were called just before 2:40 p.m to the collapse of a three-story building, which had been under construction at 642 West 57th Street.
Firefighters on the scene said that a worker rode down the collapse by standing on scaffolding as the building crumbled, he was hospitalized but with non-life threatening injuries. Scaffolding collapsed onto the sidewalk and near two buses, luckily no-one else was injured.
