Medicare now offers a website, ‘Hospital Compare,’ that lists the federal scores of hospitals around the nation.
The hospitals are rated 1-5 stars, 5 being the best. Not a single N.J. hospital received a five-star rating. Only eight hospitals statewide received a four-star rating, which is just slightly higher than the number of hospitals that received a one-star rating, six in total.
While some healthcare professionals and hospital administration question the accuracy of the federal scoring system it is still abundantly clear there is a trend in New Jersey hospitals that must be addressed.
