$400,000 Settlement : Pedestrian Hit By Car While In Crosswalk

Our 76-year-old client waited patiently for the light in to turn before entering the crosswalk in Queens, NY. Once the green walk sign lit up, she began crossing. As she was just walking over the first lane a car made a right on red and struck her, knocking her to the ground. As a result of being hit, our client broke her hip. Luckily, no surgery was needed. Unfortunately, and unrelated to being hit by the car, our client passed away when she was 79, just prior to the trial. The insurance company for the negligent driver agreed to settle and pay her estate $400,000. The case was handled by Trial Partner Sharon Scanlan.
