$1,750,000 Settlement: Two Distracted Drivers Fail to Stop For School Bus

While working as a service technician on his way to service an industrial tank, our client was traveling on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast NY when he came upon a stopped school bus picking up children. After bringing his vehicle to a complete stop, without warning our client felt two fast impacts to the rear of his work truck. When he got out of his truck he saw a car behind his truck and a pump truck behind the car. The car claimed they too had stopped and were hit in the rear by the pump truck and pushed into our client’s vehicle. Our client suffered an injury to his spine and required two major surgeries. One month prior to trial the pump truck’s insurance company offered their full $1,250,000 policy and the middle car contributed $500,000 to the settlement.

The case was handled by Partner Elyssa Fried and Trial Partner Michael Feldman.
