$13.5 Million Unanimous Verdict in Low-Damage Rear-End Crash

A woman was rear-ended at 40 mph, but her car showed little visible damage, and the insurer argued her injuries came from ankle and shoulder surgeries decades earlier. In the years after the crash, she underwent five shoulder surgeries and an ankle replacement, then developed complex regional pain syndrome that required an implanted stimulator. After a two-week trial, the jury voted unanimously to award her $13.5 million.

This result was obtained by our sister firm, Finkelstein & Partners.
