During evening rush hour on the Mid-Hudson Bridge, a box truck driver who was using his phone slammed into the back of a woman’s car without ever braking, pushing her into the vehicle ahead. Her severe back injuries eventually required surgery. An Ulster County jury awarded $31 million for her pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages, and the lasting toll the crash took on her life.
