A young woman riding her bicycle on Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island was killed when a boat detached from the SUV towing it, in doing so striking and killing the 21 year old cyclist. Another cyclist was also injured.
According the preliminary reports the driver of the SUV was attempting to change lanes with the incident occurred. The details of what caused the detachments have yet to be revealed, but witness’ speculated the boat may have had a modified hitch that wasn’t properly secured.
