Mr. Rones has been with the firm since 1985.  Together with his staff of experienced paralegal assistants, he handles the probate and administration of the estates of deceased persons, and the preparation of estate and Medicaid planning documents such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney and health care proxies.  In that regard, Mr. Rones is a member of ElderCounsel, a national membership organization to ensure that he can serve his clients with knowledge of the most up to date estates and trusts techniques.  He also represents persons petitioning the court for the appointment of guardians for children under the age of 18, and for persons of any age with developmental disabilities.

Mr. Rones counsels clients on the formation and documentation of business arrangements such as joint ventures, partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies.  He also forms and advises non-profit civic and charitable corporations.  In the course of representing those businesses and non-profits, he has counseled them in loan transactions, employment issues, and in the purchase and sale of businesses and assets.

Mr. Rones has extensive experience in all matters of real estate representing individuals, developers and banks, including the financing, purchase and sale of property, the creation of land subdivisions,  the consideration of building, planning, zoning and environmental laws and regulations, the evaluation of surveys, title reports and policies, the resolution of boundary line issues and disputes, and the analysis and creation of easements and other documentation of rights and obligations affecting  real estate.

Among  Mr. Rones’  notable clients have been  the City of Newburgh, the Town of New Windsor Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals, the Bank of New York, Local 589 IAFF, the Bonura Hospitality Group  and Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh, Inc.

Joe is an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, and is a Bronze Star recipient.   He is accredited to represent Veterans across the nation in their appeals for VA benefits for current medical conditions caused by their military service.

Mr. Rones is a founding director and counsel to both Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh, Inc. and the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, Inc.  He provides his professional services to both organizations as a volunteer.
