Our client, a Hempstead resident, was a passenger in a work vehicle when the driver was following too closely and crashed into the vehicle in front of them. One of the vehicles was launched into a utility pole. The pole fell on the work truck, crushing out client’s leg and trapping him inside. The fire department had to use the jaws of life to cut our client out. He was rushed to an area hospital where he underwent three major surgeries before being transferred to a rehabilitation center.
