Raye brings an extensive legal background to the firm. He has litigated and tried civil and matrimonial cases. He also has significant experience in the areas of criminal, real estate, and immigration law. Raye joined the firm in 1992. As a Managing Attorney, he oversees all aspects of his clients’ cases.
He has settled hundreds of cases, bringing settlements of many millions of dollars to his clients. Included among those cases is a $650,000 federal settlement for a 39 year old doctor who suffered serious neck injuries after being struck by a government vehicle; a $400,000 settlement for a 21 year old passenger who was ejected from a vehicle and sustained burning and scaring to his lower back when the vehicle rolled over him; a $250,000 settlement for a 43 year old motorcycle driver who aggravated an existing neck injury when the daughter of a former Mets baseball pitcher ran a stop sign and struck him; and a $180,000 settlement for a 38 year old Iraqi war veteran whose accident exacerbated his preexisting PTSD condition.
Recently, Raye obtained a $1,105,000 settlement for a client injured when a set of stairs collapsed and a $3,500,000 settlement for an overworked contractor who fell asleep at the wheel.
After attending Rutgers University, Raye went on to the Southwestern School of Law and received his J.D. in 1980. Ray was admitted to the New Jersey Bar, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and Southern District of New York in 1985.
Raye has been an instructor and lecturer for the NJ Continuing Legal Education Program. His area of expertise is the New Jersey Verbal Threshold law after the passage of the Automobile Insurance Cost Reduction Act. Raye was also interviewed by Channel 9 news in connection with a negligent supervision and battery case involving a New Jersey high school sports coach who assaulted and broke a young baseball player’s arm.
Away from the office, Raye is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys golf, tennis, and Texas Hold ‘ Em poker. Raye enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Yvette, recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. His son, Matthew, is a student at Rutgers University School of Law and hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps. His daughter, Michelle, was awarded a 5-year scholarship and is earning her Ph.D in Health Communication at the University of Maryland.
