Truck Driver Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Knockdown in Queens

Authorities have officially charged the tow truck driver who struck and killed a 70-year-old woman in Queens, New York on Friday, July 6th.

Police responded to the call at approximately 2:30pm at the intersection of 217th Street and Jamaica Avenue. The injured woman was transported to a local hospital with head and body injuries. Sadly, she did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The 29-year old tow truck driver was charged with a violation of New York City’s right of way law and failure to exercise due care.
