Drunken Driver Strikes and Kills Pedestrian on Bronx Highway
On Saturday, February 4th a 58-year old man was crossing the Bruckner Expressway when he was struck by a vehicle.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. According to officials the 24-year old driver who struck the victim spun out of control and landed in an embankment. Remarkably the driver managed to escape the crash without injury. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving.
The pedestrian victim suffered severe chest injuries and died at the scene of the collision. The victim is said to have spent most of his life in Schuylerville, just blocks from crash scene.
