New Jersey Nursing Home Aides Indicted Over Abuse Charges

Three New Jersey health aides employed at facilities in Camden, Passaic, and Warren Counties were charged separately on nursing home abuse charges.

The health aides have been accused of hitting and punching residents in addition to a multiple other troubling offences. A number of the offences were captured on hidden camera.

“Last year, state Attorney General Christopher Porrino announced a new program loaning out hidden cameras to New Jersey residents who fear their elderly and infirm relatives are being abused by home care workers. State authorities later expanded the program, “Safe Care Cam,” to include patients at residential facilities as well.

The Attorney General’s Office won’t say how many cameras have been distributed through the program.” NJ.com
