On Sunday, June 25th an impaired driver was speeding up Seventh Avenue when he crashed into a cyclist.
The cyclist, just 32 years old, was seriously injured in the collision.
Police, who had been chasing the driver in the moments leading up to the crash, finally caught up with the intoxicated 28-year-old driver on West 35th street.
According to witness’ the impaired driver narrowly avoided hitting other pedestrians, including a family. He will likely face a number of charges, including vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated.
We wish the injured cyclist well in his recovery and applaud the work of NYPD in holding the driver accountable.
