MTA Bus in Flames Near Grand Central

Authorities have yet to determine what caused an MTA bus to burst into flames on 45th Street and Lexington Avenue last week. The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 am.

Luckily the bus wasn’t carrying any passengers, and the driver was able to escape without injury.

The MTA bus fire comes just weeks after two train derailments at Penn Station in New York. Many New Yorkers and New Jersey residents are now questioning the reliability, and more importantly, the safety, of mass transit in the greater NYC area.
