According to the USPS a total of 6,755 postal workers were attacked by dogs in 2016. In 2015 there was approximately 200 fewer bites. So what should you know as a dog owner who receives USPS deliveries/pickups?
“‘Even good dogs have bad days,” said U.S. Postal Service Safety Director Linda DeCarlo. ‘Dog bite prevention training and continuing education are important to keep pet owners, pets and those who visit homes — like letter carriers — happy and healthy.’”
The USPS reports 27 dog attacks in Brooklyn in 2016, and 22 attacks in Flushing.
