Officials have reported multiple unrelated crashes in New Jersey during the week of January 27th resulted in at least six fatalities.
On Saturday afternoon a crash on the Garden State Parkway resulted in two of the six fatalities. According to authorities a Chevrolet Camaro was stopped in the center lanes of the Parkway. The vehicle’s two occupants were both killed when a GMC SUV struck the vehicle.
Two of the crashes involved hit and run drivers.
The majority of the crashes occurred in counties with high annual numbers of fatal car crashes. Four of the crashes occurred in Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties. “Those counties were among the top five counties with the most fatal crashes in 2016. Monmouth County was ranked second- behind Burlington County, with 46 crashes that killed 49 motorists in 2016.”-NJ.com
