On Thursday, November 17th two lives were lost in unrelated traffic crashes in New York City. The first incident occurred at approximately 10:30am in the Bronx. A 72 year old man was crossing the street when we was struck by a black Ford, traveling north on Richardson Avenue. The driver never stopped. Officials transported the victim to Jacobi Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Later that day a cyclist was struck by a truck on Broadway in Manhattan. Initial evidence shows the crash may have occurred after the cyclist swerved to avoid hitting a park car. The cyclist was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital.
