On Saturday, January 30th multiple pedestrians were involved in hit and runs /pedestrian knockdowns.
The first of the incidents occurred in Williamsburg just after 1 a.m. A young woman was attempting to hail a cab near Rodney Street and Metropolitan Ave when she was struck by a silver BMW. She was transported to an area hospital with critical head trauma.
In an unrelated incident a male and female were struck by a vehicle in the Bronx. Tragically the male victim did not survive the incident. His female companion is said to be in stable condition.
Another pedestrian was victimized in Washington Heights. A supposedly drunk driver struck a passing truck, causing the vehicle to flip over. The truck hit and killed an innocent pedestrian.
We urge drivers to always take caution while driving in the evening hours when visibility is compromised.
