Many New Yorkers have enjoyed this abnormally mild winter free of typical cold weather driving hazards like snow, sleet, ice and slush. Up until Sunday, January 17th reports of car crashes and winter related accidents have been minimal.
The 14 vehicle pile up on the Bronx River Parkway caused by ice was a brutal reminder to all motorists: take extreme caution while driving in wintery conditions.
The crash occurred just before 10pm in Yonkers, not far from the Sprain Brook Parkway. 10 people suffered minor injuries in the wreck.
