Three workers were badly burnt after a violent explosion in a New York City High School. The incident occurred days before school was due to start.
Private contractors hired to improve the school’s science labs were working on a sixth floor gas line. According to investigators one of the contractors, attempting to test the gas line lit a match, in doing so causing the damaging explosion.
All three workers were transported to area hospitals.
Roughly 4,000 students attend the school daily. At this time its speculated the building will not be re-opened for the first day of school on September 9th.
