Early Monday morning a cyclist riding near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was struck by a SUV. According to witnesses, the SUV rear-ended another motorist prior to hitting the cyclist. The SUV continued down Atlantic Ave, where he crashed into the cyclist. The SUV then crashed into a second vehicle and finally a steel pole.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, seven others were transported to Methodist hospital with minor injuries.
