Trek Bicycle has recalled approximately 1 million bicycles sold in the United States and Canada. 900,000 of the bicycles were sold in the US, model years ranging from 2000 through 2015.
The recall was issued after two riders were injured, and one left paralyzed. If the front wheel hub comes into contact with the front disc brake assembly, the front wheel may come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle completely.
Cyclists who bring in their bikes for an inspection and/or tune up will be offered quick-releases replacement and a $20 coupon.
