Senators Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) are introducing new legislation in  hopes to prevent more accidents like the Metro-North crash that happened on February 3rd and killed 6 people.

The legislations focuses on engineering and safety upgrades, education on how dangerous crossings can be, and enforcement of laws. Improvements to lights, signals and signs, we’re outlined in the plan and the FRA budget was increased from an annual $220 million to an annual $270 million.
