On Friday, May 2, a Brooklyn-bound F train derailed in Woodside, Queens at around 10:40 a.m. in a tunnel at 65th and Broadway. The MTA reported that the train was traveling on the express tracks at the time of the derailment. The FDNY retrieved passengers through street grates and brought in stretchers from access points to attend to anyone injured as soon as possible. Several minor and serious injuries were reported.
A rescue train was brought to the scene to pick up any passengers. Train service was delayed as a result.
