Cyclist Killed by MTA Bus in Harlen

A cyclist was struck and killed by an MTA bus in Harlem early morning of January 19. This is the city’s 4 traffic fatality in nearly 24 hours.

A 45-year-old man was biking along E125th Street near Lenox Avenue at around 1:30am when a Bx15 bus traveling in the same direction left the stop to merge into the travel lane. The bus struck the man on the bike on the driver’s side and he was lodged underneath the bus. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family and friends.
