Fred & Friends Recalls Baby Rattles Due to Choking Hazards

The “Buff Baby” baby rattle has been recalled due to a choking hazard.

The rattle separates easily releasing small parts posing as a choking hazard to small children. There are currently about 47,500 units in the United States and 9,300 in Canada. The product is gray plastic rattle shaped like a dumbbell and has plastic pellets inside. The rattles were packaged in a clear cylindrical package featuring a picture of a baby girl lifting the rattle. The UPC code 728987019098 can be found on the bottom of the package.

Fred & Friends has received two reports of rattle caps separating. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately remove these rattles from their child’s possession and contact Fred & Friends to receive a full refund.

This product was sold to specialty baby stores nationwide, in Canada and online at www.amazon.com and various other websites from October 2011 through June 2013 for between $7 and $10.
