Two workers who were trapped on a partly-collapsed window-washing platform on the Hearst Tower in Manhattan today, June 12, have been rescued.
The men were conscious and communicating when dozens of firefighters responded to the scene. The responders cut out a window and pulled the workers to safety.
Both men were wearing safety harnesses. The first responders lowered additional lines to them before the rescue.
The FDNY got on scene from about 2:40 p.m. The NYPD has shut down 57th Street from 7th Avenue to 9th Avenue, the Hearst Tower.
