General Contractor Pays $3,200,000 for setting a trap

Constructions sites are dangerous environments filled with chaos. Whenever a contractor invites someone into a construction site extra precaution is needed to protect the visitor. Our client, a utility meter reader was brought into an ongoing construction site in Brooklyn to read the electric meter, the contractor took him over a thin piece of wood covering a hole. Without warning, as our client walked over the covering it gave way and he fell 10 feet into the hole. Fortunately, no bones were broken, but his spine was seriously damaged. The pain was so severe he could no longer walk without pain or sit long periods of time. Eventually, a spinal cord stimulator was inserted into his spine to help relieve the pain. The case was settled at mediation for $3,200,000 by Managing Partner Andrew Finkelstein. and Trial Partner Linda Armatti-Eptstein.
