Queens Construction Worker Dies in Tragic Forklift Accident

On Saturday, February 11th a 28 year old construction worker died in a tragic forklift accident. According to officials the young worker had placed the forklift he was operating in neutral and stepped out to load boxes. The forklift began to roll forward and ended up pinning the man against a van. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.

According to statistics workplace fatalities are on the rise. “A total of 4,836 deaths due to workplace injuries occurred in 2015 – a 0.3 percent increase over 2014 and the most since 5,214 workers died in 2008, according to data released Dec. 16 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.”-Safety and Health Magazine
